๐ What is FavourIQ?
FavourIQ is an odds analysis and market intelligence platform. It helps users compare bookmaker prices, analyse exchange odds, explore matched betting strategies, and understand live market movement.
๐ How to place a qualifying bet
Step 1 โ place a real-money bet to unlock the free bet offer
A qualifying bet is a real-money back bet placed at a bookmaker to trigger their free bet offer. You cover it with a lay bet on an exchange to reduce risk. The result is always a small loss โ that's normal. You're paying a small fee to unlock a free bet worth far more.
โ
Find a suitable event
Use the Scanner to find an event with a tight spread between back and lay odds. Aim for back odds 2.0โ4.0 โ lower odds = smaller qualifying loss.
โก
Open the Calculator โ select Cash / Qualifying Free Bet
Enter back odds, lay odds, your stake and commission. The calculator gives you the exact lay stake and shows what you'll lose.
โข
Place both bets
Back the selection at your bookmaker. Then immediately lay the same selection on your exchange for the exact lay stake shown. Make sure your exchange account has enough to cover the liability first.
Worked example ยท Cash / Qualifying ยท Back 5.00 ยท Lay 5.50 ยท Smarkets 2%
โ Back at bookmaker
Any selection โ Cash / Qualifying Free Bet
โก Lay at Smarkets (2% comm)

Scenario breakdown
If selection wins โ bookie paysยฃ40.00
Exchange lay loss-ยฃ41.06
Net if win-ยฃ1.06
If selection loses โ bookie cost-ยฃ10.00
Exchange lay win+ยฃ8.94
Net if lose-ยฃ1.06
โ A -ยฃ1.06 qualifying loss is completely normal
This small loss unlocks a free bet worth many times more. The closer your back and lay odds, the smaller the loss โ the calculator's "Breakeven lay (cash)" figure shows the exact lay odds where you'd break even. Also note: you need ยฃ41.06 available in your exchange account as liability before placing the lay bet.
๐๏ธ How to use a free bet (SNR)
Step 2 โ convert your free bet into locked-in cash profit
SNR = Stake Not Returned. When your free bet wins, the bookmaker pays winnings only โ not your original stake back. By laying the same selection on an exchange, you lock in ~75โ85% of the free bet value as guaranteed cash regardless of the result.
โ
Find a higher-odds event (5.0โ8.0)
Higher back odds = more free bet value extracted. The Scanner shows efficiency scores โ aim for 75%+.
โก
Open Calculator โ select Free Bet (SNR)
Enter the free bet amount as your stake. The calculator gives you the exact lay stake to lock in profit on both outcomes.
โข
Place both bets โ profit is locked in
Use the free bet at your bookmaker. Lay the same selection on the exchange. Once both are matched, the result doesn't matter โ you profit either way.
Worked example ยท Man City v Aston Villa โ Draw ยท ยฃ40 SNR free bet
โ Back with free bet (SNR)
Man City v Aston Villa โ Draw
โก Lay at exchange
Man City v Aston Villa โ Draw
Estimated hedged return
+ยฃ31.61
Scenario breakdown
If draw โ bookie pays (stake not returned)ยฃ180.00
Exchange lay loss-ยฃ148.39
Net if draw+ยฃ31.61
If no draw โ free bet lost (ยฃ0 cost)ยฃ0 (free bet)
Exchange lay win+ยฃ31.61
Net if no draw+ยฃ31.61
โ 79% efficiency โ ยฃ31.61 guaranteed from a ยฃ40 free bet
Higher back odds improve efficiency. Use the Calculator's "๐ฏ What lay odds do I need?" section to find the max lay price that hits your target efficiency before placing.
๐ Scanner
The Scanner compares bookmaker back odds against exchange lay odds in real time. It highlights pricing differences and matched betting opportunities using live market data.
โก Arb Finder
Arbitrage opportunities may appear when bookmakers and exchanges price outcomes differently. The Arb Finder checks whether combined odds may create a positive spread after stake balancing.
๐ Trading Intel
Trading Intel focuses on odds movement and market behaviour rather than predicting winners.
Example:
โข BACK Chelsea @ 4.75
โข Chelsea score early
โข Odds shorten to 2.10
โข LAY Chelsea at lower odds
โข Hedge or balance outcomes
Exchange traders generally look for situations where odds move in their favour before reducing exposure or exiting the position.
๐งช Testing Laying
The Testing Laying tab allows users to simulate hedge scenarios using one or two back positions. Enter back odds, lay odds, and stakes to explore how exposure changes across outcomes.
๐ฆ Advanced Exchange
Advanced Exchange models lay-side market exposure using exchange SELL prices. It helps users understand liabilities, stake balancing, and exchange-style pricing dynamics.
